WPT Season #6: Gulf Coast Poker Championship $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em

WPT, 2007-09-11, by Ozone

With 17 players left and blinds of 4,000-8,000 with an ante of 1,000, Bill Edler had a mere 2,000 chips left. A day later, Edler won the Gulf Coast Poker Championship and the first-place prize of $748,000. The Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi lured 256 players to this tournament. The final table was largely void of familiar names, save for "Captain" Tom Franklin who finished 6th ($116,000).

Already a winner on this year's WPT, Jonathan Little finished 7th. T.J. Cloutier and Chad Brown also cashed (21st and 23rd, respectively). Next week, the tour moves to Atlantic City for the Borgata Poker Open.
